What Paisa stores
To track your spending, Paisa stores on your device: payment amounts, dates, payee names, categories, notes, the last digits of bank accounts or cards, balances shown in bank SMS, and the text of bank SMS you choose to log. It also stores budgets, bills, credit card statements, loans, splits, groups, savings goals and your settings.
How bank SMS reach Paisa
iOS does not let apps read your messages. You choose to set up a Shortcuts automation that passes messages containing “A/c” or “Bank” to Paisa. Paisa reads them on your device, saves only payments, and ignores everything else, including OTPs and offers. You can turn the automation off in the Shortcuts app at any time.
iCloud sync and backups
If iCloud sync is on, your data is copied to your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. Only your Apple Account can read it; we cannot. Paisa also keeps up to seven daily backup files on your device. You can export or delete all data from Settings.
What we never collect
- Bank logins, passwords, PINs, OTPs or card numbers
- Analytics, advertising identifiers or tracking
- Your location, contacts or photos (a screenshot you pick is read on the device and not kept)
Feedback emails
If you send a feature request or bug report from Settings, it is sent by email from your own mail app. Bug reports can include the app version, iOS version, phone model, language and whether iCloud sync is on. They never include your payments or messages. We use emails only to reply and to improve Paisa.
Apple services
Siri, Shortcuts, widgets, Live Activities, the Apple Watch app, Face ID and iCloud are provided by Apple and follow Apple's Privacy Policy. Face ID data never leaves the Secure Enclave and is never available to Paisa.
Purchases
Paisa Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles payment and gives the app only a signed record that you have Pro. We never see your card, UPI or payment details.
Security and your responsibility
We design Paisa to keep your data on your device, but no software or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device and Apple Account, and for keeping backups. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, unauthorised access to your device or iCloud, or any loss arising from your use of Paisa. Paisa is provided “as is” and is not financial advice. See the Terms of Use for the full terms.
Children
Paisa is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Deleting your data
Go to Settings → Delete all data. This removes everything on the device and, if iCloud sync is on, in your iCloud. Deleting the app also removes its data from the device.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and describe the change in the app's release notes.
